Hello, I'm back from my GTLS trip, it was pretty rad and I'm sure I'll blog about it or talk to you all about it in good time.
And because I am procrastinating about going to school at the moment yet don't want to get into an extremely long diatribe about my trip, I'll do one of the music questions thingys that a lot of you have been blogging about!
1. what is the total amount of music files on your computer?
A lot, and I mean it, i think about three years ago I had it estimated at about 30 something gig on my computer and backed up on CDs, I would estimate that figure would be over doubled by now. My e-penis is large, yes I know.
2. the cd you last bought?
The last CD I remember buying was "The Holy Grail" by Various Artists. Although I have been given CDs from people from my old work and friends since then.
3. what was the last song you listened to before reading this message?
Holden & Thompson - Come To Me , I wish it was something a bit newer and cooler, although I absolutely loved this when I first heard it.
4. write down five songs that you often listen to or that mean a lot to you.
Not an easy question for me, don't want to limit it to 5 "All Time" songs so I'll just give you 5 tracks/songs that I've been listening to alot over the last two weeks in no particular order.
Luke Chable - Melburn with some voice acapella over the top of a section of the track. I can't find the offical name of the acapella at the moment, but the track sounds so much better with it over the top. I love those lyrics that sound like they are sung by little pixie women :P
Hybrid - Theme from wide angle - This track is special to me for the memories it brings up. It reminds me of when I first came to Melbourne and I use to go out a lot with my sister/our flat mates/friends although this was not a track I heard until years after that period of my life. This track use to get me really excited and my brain juices flowing, the guitar samples section makes me feel all reflective. To most people it just sounds like another dance track, so oh well. A track I will still listen to for years to come.
The Grid - Floatation (Andrew Weatherall Remix) - Old track that I've been listening to for the last two weeks a lot, I just love the flute sound that is in there, the little rift it plays reminds me of The Beatles - Yesterday. The track is quality for its time.
Chakra - 'I Am (Wrecked Angle)' + Age of Love - 'Age of Love (Wrecked Angle Mix) - A mix by Jonathan Lisle of those two tracks over the top of each other, I think he isolated everything into single samples and then retracked over the top of each other, blah my brain is not working. Its just an amazing sound and choice of music that sounds so good together. Reminds me of darkened rooms :P .
Rabbit in the Moon - Out of Body Experience - Again this is some Jonathan Lisle redit which comprises of 2x RITM - OBE (burning spear) and 2x RITM - OBE (lunar eclipse) put into about 6 minute period, its top notch editing of one of my all time favorite tracks available to listen on a for radio only mix of his called "Autobiography" which can be found on slsk I am guessing.
5. who are you going to pass this stick to (3 persons) and why?
Nobody! Ok maybe Tha G but thats it :) .
Fuck a hat I feel really out of it, better go eat. Later.
