And leaf blowers right, they are the most overused and overrated gardening tool ever. The fuckers that "care take" or "garden" around here (which is pretty much a street half full of blocks of 3 story flats) they seem to use leaf blowers pretty much as some sort of universal tool, they use it for everything! Instead of picking up some rubbish, Blow it! Some dirt of the stairs? Blow it! A few leaves on the ground? Blow it! Its stupid, I mean I know they are for blowing massive amounts of leaves into a pile and then scoop them up and put them in a green bin or something (which is good for this time of year I'd admit) but these guys don't even do that, they just pretty much blow all the rubbish, dirt, leaves or whatever they feel like out of the front of the flats block and into the gutter or just leave it on the sidewalk and basically leave it up the council to do something about it! Fucking lazy fuckers! I sure hope these guys get paid by the hour and not the job, because basically the job here consists of rocking up, switching the leaf blower on for about an hour and walk around the place and blow shit and then leave a giant mess of crap out the front and hope the street sweepers do something about it, then they fuck off somewhere else and repeat the process. There is pretty much no thinking or manual labour involved in this, its just walk and blow. You could train a monkey to do this sort of work, I hope there is no one out there making a decent living off this cause that would just piss me off, I bet they promise to do proper gardening and care taking and offer all these services but never do ANYTHING BUT BLOW SHIT AROUND! WWWWOOOOOOZZZZZZZ WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOZZZZ I'M BLOWING LEAVES LIKE A CRAPSTICK WITH A $2 DOLLAR HAND FAN ATTACHED! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Leaf blowers are dumb. They should leave the leaves (!), they make good mulch.
So I take it the computer falls into the 'surprisingly expensive' category? Did Vince get mad?
They should just bloody rake the buggers up and put them somwhere to turn into mulch or compost or whatever.
I dunno if the computer is going to be a lot, but I'm expecting somewhere around $500 minimum, but vince hasn't called me back to today to let me know what the problem is so the longer he doesn't call me generally equates to higher cost :).
He didn't get mad last night, the tow truck driver made me call him to tell him I was coming, I helped vince push the car into his place. He was really good about me calling him at like 10:30 or 11pm or whenever.

Yeah I get them around my place too -- you can hear them on a Saturday or Sunday morning, blowing the leaves, so that the wind can come and blow more leaves off the trees and onto the area the person just blow-cleaned. It's a marvellous way to waste electricity. So when you think about it, all they are doing is moving some leaves to a different area, and why? The area will just be leave-strewn again in a day or two. Besides, whats wrong with leaves, I think it adds character to the elm/maple ridden suburbs here in Melbourne. And in doing this, they use a few KWh of power to do it (per person). How much non-renewable brown coal could be saved, as well as the air pollutant emissions reductions that could be achieved by banning these useless devices, I'd like to know.
