For the last three days at about 4pm I get a call from some electricity companies telemarketers. Everytime I pick up the phone there is a delay of a few seconds and then somebody with an indian sounding accent starts blurting "Hello? Hello?" and then when I say "Hello" again they start their speil in a very agressive way. They ask me if they can speak to the person "In Charge" of the electricity bill, since my name is not on the bill I say I am not and that "she isn't here", they then get even more grumpy (after a long pause) and ask when will "he" be home (Everytime I've said "she") I've always told them to ring about 7 or 8 as thats when astro will be home the earliest, they say they will ring back then, they never ring back, they always ring the next day at the same time, IT'S REALLY FUCKING ANNOYING! Doesn't anyone take notes there? There should be some sort of incident/client reporting going on so they don't constantly ring the same number at the same time every day to get the same result. Tomorrow if I get a call from them I'm going to fucking let them have it and get as shitty as I can and make myself as annoying as possible to them, fuck 'em.

hahaha... I think you should go with the 'get as angry as I can'. Go serp!
I've given up being kind and nice to them. I know they are only doing their job but, think about it, their employer won't have anyone to employ of nobody wants a job doing telemarketing because it's so gruelling to be hammered by agro people on the phone. So that's my logic anyway. Make nobody want to do telemarketing then they'll all go broke and we'll all dance round like happy little citizens.
I am, however nice to Jehovas witnesses and the like. They are so kind, I just let them down nicely.
I'm with you on the 'be nice to religious missionaries' thing. However misguided, they're just trying to do what the think is necessary to make the world a better place. They're usually just happy to meet someone who will talk to them, and sometimes they have something interesting to say. If not, you can bring out whatever brand of cosmology you subscribe to and confuse the fuck out of them. Let them be the one's doing some smiling and nodding for a change.
As for telemarketers, hell, if they're going to be rude and/or belligerent, they're NOT DOING THEIR JOB PROPERLY and you should ask to speak to their supervisor. Lay into him. Get their lazy asses fired. Any telemarketing outfit worth it's salt does have facilities for tracking calls made and the results they've had. Usually very sophisticated facilities. On the other hand, it sounds like the problem here is that they might not speak very good English. So maybe just say "no, I'm not interested. Goodbye!"
Their english is fine, I think it's just a poorly run telemarketer outfit.
On the plus side, no call back today, although I was out a bit this afternoon.
