I wish there was a feature in blogger that when someone comments on a post, every comment after that could be emailed to them so they don't have to go trawling back through a blog just so they might see a reply. I guess a sort of "subscribe to this thread" type function is what I want.

ANYWAY, replying to a comment....

"Today I had one of those guys that used monosyllabic words, and proceeded to tell me I was lying to him and didn't know how our network worked:
"Tell me where my modem is NOW. I know you can do it. TELL ME NOW" "Sorry sir we cannot do that, we can only see which of our towers is currently serving your modem" "YOU'RE LYING".

"I'm in IT" should be made into a t-shirt.

Do you just love dudes like that? I just love people that call up and refuse to believe that I CAN'T see what is on their computer and I CAN'T see what they are doing on the screen RIGHT NOW.

Argh I ate so much sugar when I came home (thanks to astro's lovely Sydney gifts!) that I can't sleep. Well, I am feeling sleepy now and I am going to bed, but you know what I mean.

I other news, work has been fair, I got my quality results the other day, I got 50%, I saw that and thought "Fark I really suck, they must have quality listened (QL) every bad call I got" and then I felt pretty down about things, then after my TM came and went through the results with me I found out that 50% is a good score as the top score for the call centre is only a touch over 70% and only about 4 people got over 60%, half of the staff got under 40%. Sounds shocking I know, but supposedly if you score 75% overall you have pretty much made perfect calls in your QL except for 1 minor mistake (like saying "yep" instead of "yes" for a verbal nod), one minor mistake takes you down 25%, yeah it is that ruthless.
So after that I felt better, supposedly crossing that with the amount of calls I take an hours and I am right up there with all those self proclaimed "call centre daddies". I have realised recently that on average I take around 40 calls a day, 200 calls a week, over 850 calls a month, that is a lot of morons to deal with.

Hmm I just broke that down into how many dollars I get in the hand for each moron I deal with, it sure isn't a lot! Great now I am going to be thinking when I am on a call to a moron that the x amount of dollars I get for dealing with this guy sure isn't worth it.

Bitch bitch bitch. I know.

I other news, I sure am playing a DEFCON and enjoying it, runs like a dog on my laptop and the AI really owns me a when their are two of them but I sure do love nuking the crap out of the U S of A. Hmmm, hope that post doesn't get me monitored by some spy agency or something :P

Is this your interim-between-uni-and-career-job job? If so, good, if not, I hope it gets better for you. Sounds like you´re really not enjoying it :o(

Ahh I hate having to get used to foreign keyboards. I keep typing funky characters like ¿, ª, º and Ç. (I´m in Barcelona)

This is my inbetween job, my so called "career" job starts in Feb. in Sydney.

I'm doing this to save the cash, it is not like it is a ton of money, but it is nothing to be sneezed at.

Hope things are going well for you in Barcelona! Wish I was there!
