Today was sorta a productive day, called the doctor, did my washing, did some web coding, more than usual for a "holiday mode" slacker like me. I don't mind coding you know, I avoid it like the plague a lot these days but when I get something done it always makes you feel like you've accomplished something. I think I just got torn down from use to happen at my old jobs where I'd get all these odds and ends and have to fix shit and fill gaps but never actually get to make something decent from conception to finished product, I mean even in web apps for my old work I was never allowed to do anything 100% as some senior dev would have to "finish it up" or something. More like make me do the easy boring crap than ride in and do the bits that are interesting and/or worth learning, crackers.

Also my TAFE project tore me down, considering I had to do 80% of the design/coding/testing of that fucker myself and then constantly check the other 20% it was a real nightmare.

So now after all my early adulthood of wanting to be a programmer I end up disliking it to the point I get stressed about even making something for myself, and now I could make some money out of it I sit around and turn down contract/one off jobs which surprisingly come around to me about 3 or 4 times a year. God if only I was getting those offers when I was 19!

What am I ever going to do with myself, I'm still trying to figure that one out. Hopefully this year I will.

I'm sitting here feeling really full and unmotivated. TV is boring and the internets is boring and I can't be bothered doing anything useful that I should be doing. I want to play CS:Source but have to wait till later. I need a shave.
Up late cause the people that live around astros flat were really really noisy about 2 hours ago and it annoyed me so much that i got out of bed even though i feel crappy in my stomach.

Tonight i went to dinner with astro and her mum and sister to celebrate astros sister getting into uni. I was feeling happy about the prospect of getting some greek food into me until all of a sudden about 15 minutes before i get there I felt a "little off". This then proceeded to be "not feeling so good" after we ordered food to being "really really not feeling good, gotta run to the bathroom" after the entrees. I felt like an alien was trying to punch its way out of my lower stomach and i proceeded to get really hot, sweaty and light headed. I must of ran off to the toilet 4 or 5 times throughout the whole meal, i'm glad that everyone was being good sports about it cause i felt terrible that i was interrupting such a fine feast. We ended up leaving not long after i started feeling like i wasn't going to have to be carted off to the hospital in a seconds notice.

Everyone is telling me I need to get checked out by a doctor and i think i will do so. I think its starting to get pretty obvious that I cannot eat certain foods and that I probably have allergies or maybe even IBS (irritable bowel syndrome?).

Meanwhile, when the hell did Caspar Pound die? I am terribly upset! One of my favourite all time artists bites the dust :/ . The guy was pretty amazing considering what he did in the early 90s and being so young when he established Rising High Records. A master at his game and only 33 when he died last year :/ .

And now finding the long-sought-after-by-serp rare and only released DJ mix CD that-wasn't-a-bonus-to-another-release (Which had rad CD Cover art/layout for its time) of his is going to be impossible to get now he is dead! (Ok maybe the cover art isn't so rad, but remember seeing this CD somewhere once and thinking it was rad looking, please keep in mind I was 16 or 17 :P).

Probably better that I don't hear it anyway, cause it might suck and ruin the magic :P .

Might try this sleep thing again.

After reading some of the links that j. has mentioned, i came across these which are really cool, I can close my eyes listening to the wind one and almost imagine being there, and the radar sounds one is nuts and start to sound like the car noise from Enduro after a while. Rock.

Edit: In fact, I'm sure someone will use some of the radar sounds one as an intro or layer to some techno/industrial/experimental track at some point, as some sorta nod or something.

Fuck I better get to bed so I can get up and get my sister a present, I was going to get her this DVD I was told she wanted but maybe I'll just get her a JB voucher in case someone else got her the same thing :/ .
Dear dude I met at the pub with Nik,

Please email me back, If you eagerly go to the effort of giving me your details for me to get in contact with you, I expect an answer fairly soon, you only have to give me the details to like two basketball places you nong, it won't take you more than 30 seconds.

Maybe you were drunker than I thought.

Ahhh new versions of old songs that I use to hate come out all the time, but this one I actually adore. Hybrid - If I survive (2003) is so much different from the original version, the original version use to be sung by this chick (perhaps Julee Cruise? or Kirsty Hawkshaw maybe) and I use to hate it with a passion because of the way she sung the song. Now its sung by a dude with a good voice, has been done with a 12 piece string section and just sounds so much "larger", if you know what I mean. :/

If these guys ever come back to Melbourne.......

So what if I survive,
and live to tell the truth
Imagine my suprise,
to find me living and so very much alive

But I swear your going down if I survive

Yes I know another crap music post, but I don't do anything useful during the day to blog about!!! In fact, i've done bugger all the last 10 days, quite depressing.

Tonight on msn my sisters old boyfriend started talking to me, we ran into each other on NYE and had a fairly decent chat then. We as people had a lot in common, from the strange shit we use to do as teenagers, to mutual friends to shit like computers but probably most importantly out of everything in common we share a passion for a particular time and space in music history. Now it must be understood that in the past about 5 years ago I wanted to throttle this guy on a daily basis due to the way he was living his life and treating my sister in their relationship, hell, one time I threw my dinner to the ground and leap across the lounge room, knife in one hand almost stabbing this guy cause he pissed me off once to often! It was a seriously serious moment in my mind and was the first time I ever felt I understood that term that he probably used in a lot of domestic violence murders "Heat of the moment".

But even through all of this, we could always fall back to our extremely rare common taste for certain music, and tonight was one of those nights where we both pulled out all the stops and thrusted music at each other over the medium of the internet, trying to find certain music that we have heard of and long forgot the names of, reminisicing on music of old and what "that" track meant to us, where we heard it first, where we bought "this" record and where we could get "that" record now. It ended in both of us agreeing that we have a lot of music that each other has that the other needs to listen to, and this probably means catching up in person soon to do so.

I have said this a bit to astro, and I'll say it again, it's a real shame that this guy is my sisters ex-boyfriend and things ended for us on such bad terms. Cause if we had met under different circumstances we would probably have been pretty good friends now, we both recognise this, and I think that he would really like to be good friends with me, but I have to keep him at an arms length as to not do so would be much more trouble than its worth which is a shame really.

I don't know how many of us have experienced that feeling of friendship with another person (outside of one being of a sexual nature), that you wish you could continue or even make better but due to circumstances that can now never be changed you just can't?? Its a weird position to be in, let me tell you.

It so strange, even though I enjoy talking to this guy the whole time I was doing it I had this feeling in my stomach that reminded me of all the anger I use to have towards him all those years ago, and by the time I finished talking to him (which was 30 minutes ago) I was exhausted! How does that work?

Anyway, its like 5am and I should sleep, my sleeping habits have just gone to shit.

Sorry if this post is poorly written, dead tired and cbf reading back over it.
