Had what i would guess you call a proper "exam" today. It was held like an offical end of semester exam and all that and was worth 50% of one of my subjects. I think I did ok, be surprised if I failed or anything like that, although not sure I'll get a distinction or higher. The test ended up being completely different to what I was expecting and what the lecturer was eluding to us in the 5 minutes he spent talking about the exam last week. He said it would be short answer and multiple choice, however it ended up being 5 x Two-pages-of-writing questions 5 short answer questions and 10 multi choice, with the multi choice only being worth 10% of the exam, he made it seem like it would be worth 20% at least, oh well, hopefully its not a total disaster.
So what else have I been doing lately? Well apart from other uni stuff, I've generally been playing Urban Dead and also a lot of pinball, which is totally rad cause it would seem the pinball emulation has gotten a whole lot better since two years ago when I last looked at it. White Water, Adams Family, Star Trek, Tales From The Crypt and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have all been getting a thrashing on both my PCs. Good times! Check out the link above for all those tables and more, I'm just getting the Fish Tales table right now to try out tomorrow.

Whats with my insomnia? I totally was lying in bed before for over an hour tossing and turning and just generally not falling to sleep. Now i've been up the last hour and a half playing White Water and Adams Family Pinball on the PinMAME emulator or whatever its called, I just wanna be asleep but I don't even feel tired, I gotta get up at 8:30am too, and then after uni study for an important exam that I have the next day (worth 50% of the subject). Grr!!!

Obviously this test is not a true test of nerdiness.
I'm not sure what pushes me that high, maybe its cause I picked the pre 90's HP calculator (the ones made in the 90s SUCK, astro will back me up on that one) on the calculator question cause it reminded me of that old really cool looking clamshell one that had two keypads in it!!!!@#$ I always wanted one of those and was terribly jealous of my oldest sister for having one (not sure why she had it in hindsight though!) I'm not sure it actually did RP/postfix notation either :/ .
I think I got lucky on the periodic table stuff, or perhaps all that chemistry that astro is learning is rubbing off :) .
PS - How can anyone even answer that they are looking at that test in lynx when you can't view images in lynx?!?!?! like you would have given up at the what "physics guy is this" image question.
Edit: Just to check I tried to load the page and then when that didn't work I tried domain in lynx via bud@swin , no dice, stupid test.

So I play this Urban Dead game cat got me onto. I had this medic character that was finally getting somewhere as it takes ages for him to get XP cause he can't hit anything with his weapons, then all of a sudden overnight a horde of 12 zombies storm the police station im in with about 20 other humans and I'm the first one they kill. That sucked, then just 5 minutes ago I am reading the zombie forum for urban dead and I see someone posted our location and then all these other zombie guys came a runnin' from like all over the joint for a zombie jamboorie, at one point there was about 30 zombies, stupid zombies, I didn't think zombies could read/talk let alone communicate via web forums! Whats up with that! :P
Anyway, now my character is a zombie, raaarrgghh.

You know what I hate? Emails with disclaimers in them which are about 30+ lines long. Thats just fucking stupid, you don't need to print the whole thing there and you don't need to put a bunch of other useless shit in the sig. either.
This only annoyed me when I was looking for something in a massive email convo via gmail and 95% of the content in all the emails were disclaimer sigs. F you.

University often gives me this feeling of impending doom, even when things are travelling on ok. Although today's test went pretty bad in hindsight, hope i did ok, i guess if i didn't i can make it up. International Finance is actually pretty hard to follow, it really starts getting into the hardcore aspects of the stock market and large scale international transactions. When you do a subject like this, you can see how people with a lot of money can make loads more money by using this advanced techniques/concepts. It also makes you understand why large corporations and billionaires have a lot of financial people employed under them, this is because it takes a lot of time and brain power to wrap your head around this shit, and to do it in the real world in real time in real markets and make a profit has to be one mega hardcore stress. But it also is a little fun, well to me anyway, go figure.
Meanwhile, serp has a sleeping disorder, go me.

This cold is turning me into an insomniac. I feel tired all the time yet when it rolls around to bed time I don't feel sleepy. When I do finally go to bed (5 minutes from now) I'll have a mad runny noise, :F .

My test the other day seemed to go pretty well, I knew what was going on and nothing was a shocking surprise (well maybe 2 questions were). I hope I didn't make a colossal fuck up of it all. Now I am studying for another test tomorrow, it will be harder than yesterdays but hopefully I can handle it.
I'm fucking hella tired, got no sleep last night cause my brain just never shuts up when I go to bed, its all fantasizing about moving overseas/interstate or winning the lottery or something else pathetic like that, also it worries alot about family/friends and then tops it all off with a little stress about things I gotta do with my time when I'm awake but always put off, good times.
I bought a pair of Jeans and a pair of cotton drill pants yesterday at Target. There clothes are pretty good value, I paid just under $60 all up for them. They both seem pretty warm and sturdy, I remember when Target clothes use to be hella crap (and I know cause a lot of my childrens clothes came from there and Kmart) but now the standards have lifted. Perhaps I'll get use to these good quality (but pretty boring) clothes!

Topic: Handbell schedule??
Ryan,
I wanted to check with you to see if you could play bells with us if we moved the rehearsal to Thursday nights at 7:00? We have several folks with a conflict on Mondays now and I am looking for another week night to rehearse.
Please let me know if Thursday works for you…

Got a test in the morning, its worth 15%. I'm not sure what exactly they are going to test us on that is worth 15%. I think my revision has been pretty good although I don't get some things but thats to be expected, hope I don't walk in there tomorrow and realise that I was studying the wrong stuff or something :/ . Its been hard studying all day with my head being so spacey :/
Meanwhile my cold seems to be holding off on getting worse, although I have gut pains :/ , not sure if its from codrial or what.
Sure is windy outside, reminds me of being younger and living in Portland, its windy at night like this at least 50% of the time.

I have a love/hate relationships with reading articles like this one -> Home runs on a winner as net widens bit by bit
. Basically the article is about BitTorrent and how widely and easily accessable it is to anyone. But they don't just stop at that, they drag the music industry into it even though the article is really talking about the film industry, they come up with cracker statistics like this:
"But, it said, it was difficult to prove a causal link between internet piracy and a 20 per cent revenue drop experienced by the music industry between 1999 and 2003."
I remember years ago when America was in recession after the dot com bust that the percentage figure of revenue reported to be lost was much higher, at least 50 to 100% higher than that 20% figure, I guess someone actually must have told them to be more realistic and revise that figure because every time I see an article like this written that figure gets smaller and smaller.
But seriously right, who is tired of articles like this. Its a boring a sloppy article, what do they pay these "entertainment reporters" to do at The Age?
Meh, I'm feeling hella sickly and annoyed, don't mind me.

I think its time for me to go to Wollongong University! They have the best teaching performance rankings in Australia apparently.
Remember that nike ad with that guy doing crazy wall springs and long jumps off buildings and crazy shit like that? Here is another video like that except no special effects in this one, just camera cut aways. Pretty cool.

Man our neighbours can be fucking noisy on weekends (well friday and saturday nights), poor old Miss-G- has to get up early in the morning and wouldn't you know it downstairs is fucking dropping what sounds like 20kg weights (he is probably working out or something) and slamming doors, their are some really drunk bitches outside laughing at nothing, other people are on their balconies talking, DJ man was playing his music a second ago loudly, fucking noise noise NOISE! I don't see the problem with keeping trying to keep the noise down, past 10pm till like 9am, people have to sleep you know? G and I are always going out of our way to be quiet for other people because we know how easy the sound carries, but does anyone else give a fuck? No, most people don't give a fuck how much noise they make unless they are affected by it. I wish I could be fucking noisy back to these people at like 3am or something but whenever I get an idea to do something Miss-G- always talks me out of it, which is a good thing I suppose but fucking hell.
I think its safe to say my cold is getting its "groove" on, I can't stop sneezing and blowing my noise every 15 to 20 minutes now. Its getting out of control. My brain feels like mud and and reaction times are becoming slow. Woe is me.

In an attempt to self medicate against this shitful cold, I decided it would be in my best interests to devour a whole packet of home brand choc mint slice (bar two of them), I'll let you know later if it cures the common cold, right after I stop feeling ill from eating too many home brand choc mint slices.
I have a cold, well its not fully fledged but its heading that way. Constant blowing of my nose and slight dense headachey feel, its about 50% cooked i'd say. I'd like to send out a special thanks to all those dirty flithy scumbags that have been sitting behind me in lectures coughing their lungs out without even thinking of covering their pie holes, Also thanks for the extremely sexy sound of snorting your snot back into your body/throat every 10 seconds, which sounds like there is a baby pig trying to burst out of your neck.
You all squarely take the blame of my cold.
That is all.

Yeah its cold. But its ok cause I'm inside and have the heater on, although even that is taking longer than normal to warm up the house. The Age tells me that snow could fall in the CBD today well, you could possibly see snowflakes from the top of the Rialto, but it won't make it too the ground.
Hmm what else is news, nothing really. School is in a lull as I have a week where I don't have an assessable task, I think I have just over 20 for this semester, thats a lot, generally you have about 3 to 4 major tasks for a subject, but I have an average of at least 5 for each.
I have a bunch of niggling tasks to do but I can't be bothered doing them, the older I get the lazier I become I swear. I think thats why we are suppose to have kids in our 20s early 30s, because without them we become lazy little twats, least with kids around we are kept 'busy' and 'on our toes' and don't have time to sit around 'blogging' about being bored. Hmmm I would probably still blog about being bored if I did have kids. Lets just scrap that whole idea eh?

Right, just finished playing the F.E.A.R Demo and its crazy and looks like its going to be an awesome game. Maybe better than Half Life 2 depending on what floats your boat all rolled into one. The game is sorta like Max Payne, Doom 3 and maybe Rainbow 6 (Cause of the leany leany around corners). Its pretty intense and dark like Doom 3 but looks like it cause have a spookier story line to it. Looks like its gonna be a lot of fun when it comes out!!!
Now I just sit and wait for the STALKER demo!

Back to Bendigo for me today, more fixing of computer things and generally being asked lots of questions, fun fun.
PS - I don't think the below track is that good, but if your into getting technical with production of this sorta stuff, its pretty unbelievable. And what I mean by unbelievable is, well, nevermind :) This will take forever to explain and I am tired, bed for me.
I have THIS track stuck in my head at the moment and I don't know why. Well not the whole track, just the bit where Britney Spears and singing/saying "Breathe On Me". Yes thats right, Britney Spears, the woman that is the symbol for everything wrong with the music industry (well so I get told), although if you listen to it you'd hardly realise its her voice. Most likely that has to do with the heavy effects and general fucking about James Holden has going on.
This track was never released due to Britney Spears record label chucking a fit no doubt, so have a listen if you think you can handle the bleepy doof stuff I like. :/ And if your anything like me, somehow these vocals will get stuck in your head some months later without warning.

Had another presentation today, went alright I think even though everyone was not into me asking them questions, trying to get some class participation, those fuckers just sat there and kept their holes shut even on the easy ones. It wasn't until I said "I'm going to keep asking questions all presentation so please try to answer some" and then two people answered some obvious ones, those little fuckers.
I dunno how it went, I just ended up spilling out my last bit really quickly cause I couldn't be fucked standing up there anymore. I don't think I've ever been like that at a presentation before, maybe i'm getting use to them?
Oh well 2 presentations down for this semester only 4 to go (I think).
I think between my 4 subjects this semester I have 20 assessable items, thats pretty full on, and thats not shit like attendance or something balls like that, this is 20 things you actually have to attempt to pass.
