So reflection on the first week, the last two days went down pretty well, Friday was excellent compared to every other day, I had a few meetings, got things done and generally felt like I was contributing and getting a grasp of what I need to do. I meet with a previous graduate from last year for coffee (still getting use to the fact I can leave the office whenever I feel like it, working in a call centre can make you feel really funny about those sort of things) he went over a few things with me and gave me some advice which made me feel better about how to progress with this year and beyond.

So now tomorrow I'm up early for this orientation thing, should be good hopefully.

Hey dude. Hope the new job is going well.

The first few days are always daunting, we get this a lot with our new hires, the feeling they are a burden and not yet achieved anything.

We don't expect any serious progress for at least a few weeks and we tell them so. Best to just build the relationship with fellow staff during this time.

Oh and Lotus Notes.. we use it.. best to avoid it unless absolutely necessary.. haha

Have a good one mate.. you know corey is back in the country now.. Perhaps we can organise to come up to Sydney some time, I have some other friends there too I would like to catch up with.
